  • ELMO ST-600 2-Track M aperture question

I am projecting a film through a new ST-600 I just picked up. Projector seems in great working condition - HOWEVER - I notice the the aperture seems shifted a bit to the right. Meaning, that you see\ a hard matte on the left side where the magnetic track is. It's small but it's there. The right side of the screen is a soft matte- looks appropriate.

Are there adjustments you can make to shift the aperture slightly to the right so that you would end up with a SOFT matte on both sides of the frame like you would normally see.

The same film projected on my Sankyo 762 looks fine - soft mattes on both right and left side.

    Thank you!

Hi Philip, An Elmo has a larger/ wider gate than the sankyo.

Have you tried another film in the Elmo, quite a few Waltons etc are well out from miss slitting etc.

If you have some good kodak LPP prints be worth running one on the 600.

Might be it does need an adjust though too.

    Hope it works out.

    Best wishes Mark.

PS if you look where the lens flips out there is a small philips !!! head silver screw usually fixed with a set blue thread fixer, that adjusts the lens this way and that may fix it, re alignment, but try a few more films first maybe.

Hi Philip to get that edge to edge sharpness. You must adjust the small screw at bottom of the lens bracket. With the film being run through the projector. You need a long Philip head screw driver mini one will do. If you do it right you should be good to go. Thanks Leon.
