Our 30th gathering of film collectors is coming up very soon (April 3 - April 6) in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.
Here's the schedule of events:
Thursday, April 3
CineSea begins with our Thursday Night Theme, where we dive into short films from a specific genre. Speaking of diving, this time we’re heading underwater to celebrate…The Ocean! We’ll be showcasing films that explore the wonders of the sea — whether in ocean adventures, documentaries, comedies, or cartoons. Since we can’t stay submerged for too long, each film will be under 25 minutes.
Friday, April 4
For our Friday Features, attendees nominate prints from their collections that they’d like to share. We have 11 films to choose from in Super 8mm, 16mm & 35mm.
AIRPORT – 1970 (16mm Scope, IB Tech)
BAMBI – 1942 (16mm Flat, LPP)
BEN HUR* – 1925 (16mm Flat, B&W with Color sequences)
BODY PARTS – 1991 (35mm Scope, LPP)
CISCO PIKE – 1971 (16mm Flat, Fujicolor)
CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER – 1994 (35mm Scope, LPP)
EASY MONEY – 1983 (16mm Flat, LPP)
THE GENERAL – 1926 (Super 8mm Flat, B&W)
INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS – 1956 (16mm Flat, B&W)
PENNIES FROM HEAVEN – 1981 (16mm Flat, LPP)
POLTERGEIST – 1982 (Super 8mm Scope, Color)
*Denotes a digitally sourced print
The top two vote-getters will be screened. When the voting is done, I'll let you know the winners.

Friday Night Presentation
There will be a special third movie shown on Friday. Forum member Evan Samaras and George Scoufaras will present an early screening of “Projection”, a feature that they wrote, produced, directed and edited. After the screening we’ll have a Q&A with Evan & George. “Projection” was filmed in Super 16mm and this will be a digital screening.
Saturday, April 5 Part One: Dealer Day!
I really enjoy the sounds of the Dealer part of Saturday. Numerous projectors run non-stop with a Castle Films cutdown threaded up on one, a reel of Soundies on another, a Hammer horror playing in the corner and the voices of Daffy, Mickey & Popeye wafting through the rooms. Many films will trade hands right up to the dinner break.
Saturday Part Two: Evening Screenings
After the break, we start the Saturday night screening, where people bring films to show (with a running time of 20 minutes or less) in Standard 8, Super 8, 16mm or 35mm. There’s no set list so what we end up watching is a surprise to everyone!
Created by John Black & Shorty Caruso, the purpose behind CineSea is to keep this hobby going by giving the collector an affordable show. Admission is free. To get a better idea of what CineSea is, here's a look at CineSea 29 in Pictures!
