I've just picked up one of the noris norimat super 8 projectors which has the tape deck built into the rear and all seems to work. There is no instruction manual but According to various sites like van eck etc these should be able to play sound films via the soundtrack on the film or from the tape deck but i cannot see how it can play sound from the film as there does not seem to be a sound head along the film path. Or am i missing something ?.

The projector you refer to does not have to ability to play films with magnetic soundtracks (on film). It was designed for playback with the attached tape deck only. -

I believe the Noris Norimat Electronic 2000 can play mag sound films in addition to using the attached tape deck, however as Thomas said, the other models do not have that capability.Comment

I was not aware of the E-2000 model. What a unique design, I do not believe any other projector was configured like this. Were they?Comment
