So I’ve screwed up royally on my gs-1200 xenon. I think I may have blown the transformer but i’m not sure. I was replacing the rear arm gear the one that cracks often with a new metal gear. In the process I pulled out one of the wires on the board mounted on the rear arm motor and when I mounted it back up and finished my job I switched the projector on and the rear motor didn’t work at all when I press forward due to this wire not being hooked up (I didn’t realize this yet until I took the back cover off) it didn’t run. I then pulled the rewind tab and I heard a pop from the transformer. The exciter lamp doesn’t turn on now, the projector will only run slow, and the fan doesn’t spin. Due to it being a the xenon version of the gs-1200 the transformer fuses are mounted different co later to the normal gs-1200 for xenon lighting accommodations. I would greatly appreciate any help or tips from others who have had similar problems. When I took off the back panel afterwards I saw that when I remounted the rear motor a short blue wire from the board mounted on the motor was wedged in between the bracket and the projector housing. I do also realize that I could also be sol and just ruined my favorite projector in my collection. So please send any tips!!

Thank you so much mr Norris, I’ll make sure to check the fuses and re solder the wire back into the board I love my Gs-1200s but man they’re a pain and scary to work on. I can recall checking the fuses before and I thought it was all fine but i’ll make sure to take a better look and the filament this time. Anthony

Wow that’s incredible you still have new parts for a gs-1200. sealed too! I did see my problem a broken fuse on the left most side of the transformer circled in black in the picture for you. I also need to resolver the blue wire my barbaric butt pulled out on accident. (seen in photo 2). With all of this i would also replace the number 1 gear as that gear has cracked. Which was the whole start of my mess. But now my mind is at ease as now i know im in good hands and the parts can be sourced by you. You have no idea how much this helped me and eased my concerns. Thank you so much Mr. Norris
