Hello to all forum members – I'm noticing more and more often that basic rules of politeness and decorum are being lost. It should be a given that you get feedback on questions you've answered. What do you think?

I can only speak for myself,...
If I post a question, I always try to get back on a reply, or at least thank the person for answering.
Sometimes the question gets a few replies and than I'll wait for a while to thank everyone at once.
But therein lies the catch, because then you can suddenly forget about it.

Oh yes, absolutely.
Mostly I'm so happy when thinks worked out, that I wanna let everybody here know.
But some poeple make an account, just to seek help for only that problem.
As the friendly fellows we are, we feel for that person and try to help, waiting,... how it will end, but than discovering he'll never comes back.

Yes,
Problem-solving is a story! It's not as satisfying if you aren't allowed to find out how it ends! (It's like having to leave the theater 15 minutes before the movie is over!)
The other thing is when someone brings a problem here to be solved and we don't work it all the way through, we lose the chance to have the knowledge gained for the next time the same problem happens. This is why we have the Index of Technical Topics" section, and also where a lot of it's content started out.
-15 years ago somebody lost sound (for example), and as a result there is a procedure in place.

My own opinion, if the question is about non-for-sale matters yes, there should be a feedback.
If it is regarding item for sale, the feedback when the question is answered, is not mandatory.
For example:- Q: Is it available?
- A: Yes
- Q: How much?
- A: $XXXX
- Q: No thanks / Ok I take it
my 2 cents,
Winbert

I'm not even follow most of those.
I think, they also get deleted after some time.
If not, they should, cause the dataspace has no value.
