  • Sankyo 800 belt slipping

My Sankyo 800 is having a takeup reel problem . After about 600 ft, the reel stops and the belt starts slipping through the pully gear . The projector works perfectly ! I’ve tried two different belts (round and square ) , and tried belt anti slipping spray . I just sandpapered the pulley gear to see if that works ! Any advice would be great ! It may just need a tighter belt so help getting one also appreciated .

I get Elmo belts on eBay so you should probably be able to find them for your model as well and brand

        You mean the takeup reel?

Yes the take up reel ! Thank you ! I bought the belt shown in this thread . It was still slipping ! Again, works perfect until about 600 ft then reel slows down and eventually stops because belt is slipping . All other gears are working perfectly in projector

Update - I used sand paper and sanded the inside of the pulley gear on the take up reel side - played. a full 600 ft reel with no problems ! So good so far

So it's just a matter of a tad more "grip" from the pulley to solve the issue.
But for the sake of completeness - does the belt moderately stretch out when installed? For rubber belt you'll need some tension in order to make it properly functional. If too loose it might not be able to transmit enough "drive" hence loose rewind.

I think you are on to something . I think the belt is stretching out ! Anyone on here who knows of a tighter belt than the one shown in this thread (which is the one I have ) please direct me. There’s no question a tighter belt would solve problem perfectly . Any help on how to make belt smaller too is welcome
