Norisound 342 Stereo Super 8 projector stopped running

Hi ,

I have a problem with the above projector , it ran fine for a few minutes then stopped . There are two 3.15a fuses either side of the bridge rectifier which had blown . I replaced them but they blew again . Does anyone have any ideas? It sounds like an open shirt but it would be good to have an idea where to look . The schematic suggests it has quite a complicated motor control circuit which could be the problem . Any help or advice gratefully received . Thanks

Hi Jon,

Bridge rectifiers commonly short out with age.

They are easy to check with an ohmmeter.

Another good possibility is the electrolytic capacitor that should come right after the rectifier.

(-always better to start with the easy stuff!)
