  • Xenpow 150 HID lamp Conversion

Anyone know where I can get the Xenpow 150 HID lamp and balist?

This lamp can be purchased in the UK, see link. I have yet to find a supplier in the US.

I ended up purchasing a small qty for $40each from Alibaba. I have attached my invoice in case anyone wants to use the same vender.

I was looking for these, but when this Covid-19 pandemic started they seemed to disappear from the market (1 could only find 1 lamp on Amazon) and no ballasts. Perhaps it was because they mainly came from China. I have seen a few more since, but at a higher price.

Here are the two items, both in UK and in stock. Prices haven't increased much since my 16mm Bell & Howell 644 was converted eight years ago.

Would be nice one day to hear some of someone who had done a Eumig. Hmmm🤔

That's what I am planning, the fact the fan works as soon as the projector gets power is in its favour. I was hoping to go to the Big Screen Scene Revival last month as I had heard that someone might be taking an HID150 Mk 710D this time, but then the virus came.... Well maybe it will get rescheduled for later this year.

Might have a go at it as well I've run out or projects at the moment. If it works it would be really handy for Standard 8 sound on a bigger screen. I'm going to have to work out some sort of automated dowser tho to protect the film.

We were all set for BSR as well a great shame as I also penned in the premiere of CIM 2 S8 epic. We will get there I am sure.

As I said above, my conversion (by Kevin Brown) is on a 16mm Bell & Howell. Probably more room than on a Eumig.
Lee, I have sent a PM itemising details of Kevin's conversion.
