Super 8mm Prop of Choice

I was filming in a studio recently that had a number of different backgrounds set up. One of the them had been propped with a Super 8mm camera.





This is a Yashica Super-40 Electronic. I though it was a nice touch, took these pictures and soon forgot about it.

Yesterday I went for a walk and passed an Optician's storefront. The window display had a nostalgia theme and showcased older items such as books, records and...a Yashica Super-40 Electronic!




That's some coincidence, or perhaps this particular camera is the Super 8mm prop of choice!

There was a photo shop nearby that advertised video transfers in their front window with a keystone R8 machine with plastic S8 reels dangling loosely on the spindles.

i felt somebody should rescue the poor thing!
