I'm looking for an 8mm joiner (standard and super 8) to edit lots of family home movies I've discovered in my late mother's house. As a former professional film editor, I'd prefer an Italian 'Incollatrice' tape joiner but I know they're very rare so a conventional one would be fine. Any help will be appreciated

Hi Ian, Welcome to the forum. The amateur version of the Italian tape splicer is known as the C I R. and there are versions for all four narrow gauges. You may be able to obtain one from one of the few remaining dealers, upcoming film collectors fairs or try EBay.. A pity you do not live near me, you could borrow mine. I have one for each type of film, but a bit low on the rolls of tape.
