  • Eumig P8 Automatic projector

Just ordered one of The Bay, any tips appreciated, it’s described as working

Yea, not too surprised that it would still be working since it is an older generation Eumig. But unless it is the Eumig P8 Novo you are going to be searching for some mighty expensive lamps (not made anymore and all are old stock) when the current one blows. Unfortunately only the late model Eumig P8 Novo uses dirt cheap readily available 12v 100 watt FCR lamps!

Morning IAN, Having had many years working on P8's may I profer the folowing?
Main drive belt, cheap and easy to fix,
check the existing belt is not going soft and that the pulleys are clean, and has not got a set in its profile through being stood.
Spring arm belts, should have no kinks, but will still work.
Lamps, Eumig used 3 lamps over the years, all 12v 100w.
Originally a 2pin base coded A1/186, a relatively common lamp as this was used in many projectors including slide units, some people over value these lamps!
Now we meet the "badie" a 4 pin base unit coded A1/193 only used by Eumig can be expensive!
The last was an I.Q. lamp coded A1/215 very common, very cheap.these are found on models suffixed NOVO.
Lastly beware of people selling lamp conversions especially A1/193.

        Regards TOM

Yes, the good thing about the 12v 100 watt FCR lamp is that they are still being made...a common lamp also in microscopes, which is why they're probably still being made! and if you order them from China you can get three of them for about $10 including free shipping! Guess where I order them from?
