Universal 8 seemed to go pink earlier than most other distributors. I can only think that given the vast quantity of titles and footage that perhaps the labs rushed and maybe didn’t bother with a fix bath. Can’t image they thought they’d still be being watched 20 years on let alone now.

I did hear a rumour that someone in charge over ordered from the labs and received back handers. Total rumour-ville of course, but would go some way to explaining the huge quantities of unsold titles.

I loved going to Blackpool in the late 80’s and buying 400fters for about £5.00

Derann seemingly bought tonnes of old stock and certainly piled them high…literally. There was a huge pile of various titles like The Jerk, Two Minute Warning, The Hulk, Animal House…all at give away prices. Sadly mine all went pink…

My Galactica and Duel were both very good new. Not now though…

Mark, There is a NEW digest of THE MUMMY's HAND coming soon on Super 8!
      Perhaps, The Mummy's Curse afterwards?

Occasionally, some good film labs got a hold of the titles. I have a 2X400ft of the first Battlestar Galactica, on Kodak SP, but it doesn't have a single bit of fade, though it appears that it was printed ever so slightly dark, but that certainly doesn't harm the space scenes! The color actually mirrors what is on the Blu-ray, so they could be printed well, but, as stated previously, most have went pink. Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack, while most of the digest is pretty good, that beginning credit sequence has always been very faded from the start. I once had for a very short time, because it totally SUCKED, the "Galactica 1980" digest, and that, well, pinked out as well, but the digest was such a terrible edit! I was amazed that they'd leave out the Cylon raid on Los Angeles, which was the only bright moment of that first two hour feature, ( which was released abroad, overseas, which was probably the reason that a digest was made of it).
