I'm sure many GS1200 user's already follow this advice but, for those who are unaware of it, here is a tip that can save you having to replace the plastic gears on the shaft of the take up motor:
When rewinding films on the GS1200 projector, as soon as the film flies off the rear spool, always stop the fast spinning rear reel by hand BEFORE disengaging (pushing back in ) the yellow rewind knob at the front /top of the projector. So you need to keep your right hand loosely over the front spool as it approaches the end of the rewind and ,at the sane time, use your left hand to slowly bring the rear spool to rest once the film has flown off it, Then finally push the yellow rewind back in to stop the front motor. This procedure will totally eliminate the enormous stress, induced by a sudden rear spool stop, on those little plastic gears on the internal motor shaft, which will eventually cause them to split open and require replacement.
