  • Eumig 824 blowing fuse

Just picked up a very clean hardly used eumig 824 in its orig box. After cleaning the drive discs it runs perfect and with good sound but as soon as you press the red record button in, the amp fuse instantly blows. Ive made shure they are 2A replacement fuses as recommended in the instruction book, what could be wrong?.

It’s a dead capacitor and IC on the amp board that’s causing the issue. I had Bill Parsons repair mine.

      Hi!
Simon is most likely correct. But there’s one thing that you could also check: Is the correct voltage/frequency selected? Some Eumigs have a large variety of settings like 100/110/117/125/200/220/240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.

      Just a stupid idea

Jason, assuming it's NOT on the wrong voltage, in Stanmore, just down the road is THE Eumig guru. John White http://www.the8mmshedshop.co.uk/
BTW changing the 50/60 tab does NOT affect the electronics, just the traverse of the speed control.
