I've updated the Blackpool Film Collectors' Convention website with booking information for the Saturday night Film Collectors' Dinner which takes place on 15th November at the Grand Hotel, Blackpool.
This year's Dinner marks 40 years since Derek Simmonds of Derann first organised a meal on the evening before the Sunday Film Fair, and 40 years later the event remains very popular. As well a sumptuous three course meal (finishing off with tea and coffee), Adrian Winchester hosts a fiendishly-difficult and hotly-contested film quiz between the courses. At the end of the meal a raffle is held with some fabulous prizes (including feature films on both super 8 and 16mm) and evening rounds off with a film show, this time expertly put together by Colin Tolman.
The price of the meal is £30 per person, but those staying at The Grand Hotel at the special Convention rate can transfer their meal to the gala dinner at no extra charge.
You must book to attend -- to find out how to, please visit
