Bauer t18 no sound output but......

hello. I have a Bauer T18 that had been sat for years in my garage. Brought it out, cleaned , lubed, new belt and lamp. Runs perfectly but...no sound is heard from internal speaker (or from an external speaker) BUT: You can just hear the audio from the speaker, really really quiet. Any ideas as to how to fix? Ive tried the pressing the record switch multiple times etc. stay safe all, and thank you for your advice.

Hello Mark,

I assume the "microphone/speaker" switch is set correctly. When the switch is set to the microphone position the speaker is turned off.




Aside from a possible issue with the speaker cable which can become detached when removing the rear cover, you might want to check the amplifier fuse on the base near the flywheel.

How about external source such as microphone input?
