Thanks. That link helped and it pretty much is what I suspected but wanted to confirm. However, now that I know it has a heavenly smell I am going to try it out.

Any suggestions on the best way to lubricate the FILM PATH on a Sankyo 2000H Dual 8mm projector? I was thinking about applying a generous amount of Filmguard to some LEADER and run it through the projector a couple of times.

I can't see an easy way to get the lubricant into the film path really to make a difference.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have never lubricated the film path. Remember it has to hold the film steady in the gate, so passing lubrication through the whole path would include the gate and cause problems. After all it is designed to only touch the non projected parts of the film and designed to not impede its progress. The lubrication on the film should be more than enough.

Thanks. I was reading where someone used FilmGaurd to lubricate the path and it helped with 'chatter' when the film is playing. Not sure exactly what they did. What you say makes sense though. I certainly DO NOT want to over lubricate.
