Doctor Who - Cine Camera Identification 1966

Here's an off-screen photo taken by John Cura's Tele-Snaps service in 1966 from Patrick Troughton's first (and now lost) adventure as Doctor Who.

The picture shows scientist Lesterson (played by Robert James) recording his experiments with a Dalek (this is the Dalek's one-eyed view of him!) - but can anyone identify what cine camera he's using to do it? 😀



And here's an additional side view of the camera.



Wandering through Google, it looks a bit like a Revere Model 44, but I'm not 100% sure.

But why should a BBC programme be using an American camera?

The designer would probably have just gone down to the BBC Props Department and pulled the most interesting looking one off the shelf!

Yes, after all it was set on a distant planet and so far in the future who could tell the nationality of the people there, accents change.
