Black and White...or...Faded Colour ?

Certainly for 16mm, a faded colour copy looks quite reasonable with my Bell & Howell 644 with its HID 150 conversion.
Similarly, my Eiki 2000A, with its 350 watt xenon makes films look even better.
It's really due to the colour temperature of xenon lamps which at around 6000 K have the similar blue content as sunlight.

Like most people, I'd keep the b/w feature and sell the faded colour copy, although I agree that it's less satisfying to watch a b/w film if you know it should be in colour. However, if it was a prized short, having seen images showing how much Alberto can improve the appearance of faded prints, I'd now be inclined to send the colour one to him, and perhaps then sell the b/w one!

NEVER a faded print, but I can’t say I’d be too much more fond of a B&W version of a colour film either. Especially, if the title is readily available in its original colour in some other medium.
