    I believe you need to adjust the Asa/Iso number to take account of the different voltage of modern batteries. Is that correct?

      I believe that is true as I recall that in some of the older 35mm SLR cameras modern batteries would not give a proper light meter reading. If I recall correctly there was a specific value of resistor that was soldered in series with the battery to drop the voltage to 1.3 in order for the light meter to read accurately.

        You may find the following article of interest.
        In essence, the newer small cells have a slightly higher voltage output than the earlier used mercury cells. As you say, it means adjusting the ASA/ISO setting to compensate.
