  • Sankyo-P1600

    Hi everyone!

I am quite new to the world of super 8. I was hoping to ask for some advice regarding the Sankyo P1600 projector. Mine had two small rectangular pieces fall out of it. My guess is that they sit in front of the lamp, but I could be entirely wrong. I was hoping someone could enlighten me as to what their purpose is and where they should be located within the projector.

    Thank you in advance.

Probably the heat filter for still projection function.

You probably can live without that, as long as you NEVER use the still function - it will burn the frame right off within half a second or less.

By the way if my memory is correct, this projector simply STOPS the motor when in still mode - hence no ventilation whatsoever. No wonder that the heat buildup will skyrocket in a short moment.

If that's me I would totally disable the still function - just to be on the safe side.
