November update on Reel Image releases

Christmas Trailer Reel
This 200' flat/stereo release starts off with a short Dolby header, followed by three trailers:
Deck the Halls, The Muppet Christmas Carol & Ernest Saves Christmas.

Batman (1966) Trailer
This 3 minute release uses a different (better!) source print than the earlier CHC release.

Mater's Tall Tales - Tokyo Mater
At 7.5 minutes, this letterboxed/stereo Cars Toon is fast paced & very colorful!

Would that be the Adam West Batman?!

For a kid in the 1960s, that was THE Batman!

I realize now it wasn't true to the comic book original, but we didn't know any differently. It's interesting how what seems to be drama when you are 8 years old turns into comedy a decade later.

I think they got the balance just right in the Adam West Batman, to allow children to enjoy it as a drama and adults as a comedy. I especially enjoy the nod to the film in the Wallace & Gromit short "A Matter of Loaf and Death" - trying to get rid of hte bomb.

If it's the trailer I hope it is, that line will be in there.

There was definite...tension between Catwoman and Batman: if an 8 year old had been conscious enough to pick up on it, it would have been like...."Ewwww! Yuuuuck!".
