So I'm back to using my ever trusty Elmo FP8-C Honeywell Elmo Dual 8 projector. It's fitted with a 15mm prime Bolex lens. The images are fantastic on screen! Anyways, I last lubricated the motor about 2 years ago. I got to thinking instead of using 3-1 oil maybe a synthetic oil would be better for lubrication. Does anyone have a recommendation for using a good synthetic oil for the motor bearings?
I use the same stuff as Joe, and that long spout ( extends about 6 inches) is great for precise lubrication inside the projector. Available at ACE Hardware stores. It's Paraffin based, not sure if that counts as synthetic oil.
