  • Elmo GS1200 front foot wobbly

Hi all, the Elmo GS1200 is a true heavyweight. Its front foot adjustment works as intended but the foot itself isn’t really fully steady. Kind of ‘wobbly’ when you lift the projector. Then you can really move it a bit around. Of course when standing on that foot under the firm weight of itself it is sort of steady.

I have opened the GS and looked for options to fasten the front foot but couldn’t really find options. Any tips anyone as to how to make the front foot more steady?

Patrick, there is no problem with your projector, the front foot is deliberately designed to be wobbly. Let me explain. In order for any object to rest on a surface with a singularly unique position, it must rest on 3 points not four. The way the front foot is designed by Elmo is that they have distributed the weight of the projector at the front to be spread over 2 rubber feet on a flat metal beam. This weight is transferred to the vertical adjustment screw. So you end up with a 3-point kinematic mount which always has a singular alignment. If the mount were not a little bit "wobbly" the projector would be resting on four points and would really wobble.
