The one I saw at the last Big Screen Scene Revival used a Philips ballast. That seemed to work well and was more slimline than the Venture one.

I have used the Venture ballast on three machines, wondered whether members have tried other brands with success .
This conversion is the way forward for viewing film, most of my prints are B/W and the results are stunning.
