Hi All - thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I'm new to 8mm projectors, having purchased a Canon P-8 Cinestar on eBay to show some recently discovered home movies from the 60s. This seems to be a sprocketless projector, with transport depending on the film attaching to the take-up spool. The motor is working and the take-up spool revolving but the film will not feed in. As it isn't attaching automatically I tried taping it to the spool but that stopped the spool from revolving. It looks as if the drive belt is not gripping sufficiently, in addition to there being a problem in the automatic attachment to the take-up spool. Is it possible to replace the belt? I'm hoping someone with experience of this projector might be able to advise me.
