  • Sankyo 2000H: Take-up Reel Arm / Mechanism Weak

Hey there Team! Question: I have a couple Sankyo 2000H's that develop the same problem: the take-up reel arm mechanics get weak, too weak to turn efficiently to take-up the film on the reel. I don't think it's the main belt, as the rewind (front supply wheel and parts) work fine. Has anyone encountered this? If so, share tips on what may fix it! Everything looks ok inside... that long figure 8 spring might be a culprit? But again, it looks ok. I poked around inside at that mechanism and it started working better, but then got weak again. Ok, hope that all makes sense, thanks!

Hi John...see if this thread from the archives is of any help. It not only has helped with film jitters, but also take-up issues.

Thanks Janice so much for the link! So... with projectors, I usually don't get massively lucky when a weird problem develops, and jump to mid-to-beyond troubleshooting or assessment. But in this case, I just now lubed it up a little bit and: it works fine lol 📽
