Right Brian from experience alone. The old 800 range have stood the test of time providing as with all machines they have been treated well.
People I know with HID lit machines would not go back to beloved Halogen and that includes me particularly with black and white films which look beautiful.
The Elmo GS1200 is a good choice for the conversion having stereo and the bigger reel capacity but the humble Eumig gives it a run for its money.

Meanwhile back on topic... First strike of the HID lamp and all good thus far. I would guesstimate the light output to match my GS1200 2 blade HID machine.
The f1.1 lens brings the Eumig to life so for the moment as far as I can go awaiting parts now.
