Definitely, only start with a very light brush to clean off the lense, before you adjust anything. Just like anything else in the film path, the lense can get minute dust, which will dull the sound. Only do other adjustments as a last resort. Also, dust both ends of the lense. Be very careful on the end close to the Exciter lamp.
