I remember seeing Hardcore about and on lists but never saw a print. I think it was a plain white box but maybe it was black and white labelling. George C Scott great actor but horrible human to be around until he have up the drink. At least he had the right attitude to Oscars.

Hardcore was one of the last two Columbia 8mm releases along with The China Syndrome, which also had B&W artwork. Brian, I'm glad your print is sharp. The color on China Syndrome is good, however the print is on the soft side. Could you post a shot of the cover?

I have never seen this film at all Brian and certainly not on S8. I can certainly believe its a great print, as many of the Columbia digests were superb quality.
I love any movie starring George C Scott, such a superb actor, his presence enhanced any film, and I think he was the best of the Scrooge's of the various film versions of The Christmas Carol.

Get your minds out of the gutter! Not that kinda Hardcore. Watching my 400' Columbia digest of Hardcore with George C Scott searching for his daughter who was lured into the underground world of pornography in the late 70's. Anyway, wondering if anyone has more info on this release. I'm assuming it was one of the last titles Columbia put out. The box art looks like a xerox (black and white) so I was thinking it may not have gotten to the point of mass producing Hardcore for release. Anyway, I personally love this movie - and think Scott should have been nominated - but the subject matter was probably too intense for the Academy. Any additional info on the super 8 release would be appreciated. Thanks!

PS; Oh its a GORGEOUS print by the way. Color and sharpness are perfect. Has an announcer of course but the edit is pretty good, too.
