ST-1200 loosing loop

I have a 1200HD that keeps loosing the lower loop and the top loop grows to the point it rubs the top guide. The claw looks good, all the guides are good. What needs to be checked to maintain loop? Thank you!

Had a similar thing happen with a St 8 sound projector last year, after much head scratching I realised that the claws were not retracting fully, hence top loop kept getting bigger and not allowing film any further. I adjusted the claw a fraction and all returned to normal. I am not familiar with your machine but could be a similar issue , worth checking !
