Hello all. Can any kind soul offer a repair procedure for the following. When I turn the main operation dial to play the heat shield only partly retracts (it should go up) Part of it is left within the projection beam etc etc. Any thoughts on this? Your help greatly appreciated. Thank you

I seem to remember that the shield is only mechanically connected to the main dial. You should check that its lever is in the correct position.

I attach two photographs (taken from the repair manual) to see if they can help you. I would check that the mechanism is clean, perhaps it is a problem of dirt and it is easily solved
