Adrian The quickest way to clean a Eumig sound head in the 700 800 range is as follows.

Buy a vhs head cleaning tape

Strip out the white tape and cut to 8mm width

Splice a short 12" length onto some white leader

Remove the big left drive sprocket

Manually feed the leader thru the machine from the black bottom guide below the gate.

A couple of drops of head cleaning fluid on the white tape

Engage the sound head with main power turned off

Manually pull the white leader thru.

Job done.

No dismantling and completed in minutes

Film gate brushes usually came with new Super 8 and 16mm projectors. Most gates are easy to open for cleaning, but some only open a fraction.

So here is gate brush which is available.

But a blower brush might be more convenient. I use both types to clean gates.
