  • what was it used for?

    I recently bought some reels with film and in two of them there is this type of super 8 tape but it is very soft and thin, and black on one side and brown on the other.
    At first glance I thought it would be to play the leader but given his tact it is impossible
    What purpose or use does it have?

    That looks very much like it is Super 8mm FULLCOAT Magnetic Sound film.

      This is pretty rare these days. Every so often somebody shows up looking to do second system sound the old-school way, and without fullcoat, the recording and editing equipment is useless.
