Do Lenses Really Make A Difference?

    I think that zoom lenses are "prime" lenses with an added variable adapter to alter the focal length. I have a lens from a Bolex cartridge loading projector where the glue between the parts weakened and I can now remove the front leaving a usable front part. As people have said the extra glassware is what needs very careful design so as to not degrade the performance much.

      I'm with Shane here as that Eumig 1,4 zoom lens is nice indeed! I think it projects a better image than the more common Eumig 1,3 zoom lens.

        Years ago I got an Agfa Sonector in my hands. Curious to see what it could afford I projected a reel of my own footage, Regular Kodachrome 25. I was stunned by the images that came out of the lens. It was a Staeble Stellar and that is stellar. No comparison to Bolex or Eumig or anything else.
