  • What would be the best grease cutter?

Well I got all excited about finding another Bolex 18-3 projector... But to my surprise when I opened it up to see what I had purchased I found that the previous owner put (I call it Bear grease) on really thick grease on the chain drive and a few other components. Does anyone have any suggestions to a grease cutter to strips off the old and put in something less than tar back on. I have thought of a solution of baking soda and water... but only if I can get it mixed well. and maybe Tri-flow it don't know... It's going to take a while and alot of q-tips and rags.

Gunk de-greaser. It will cut the grease, and wash off with water.

Kerosene is pretty good at removing grease.
