Using it the other night reminded me of all the modifications I have done to it over the years. One being using our old Elmo slide projectors from the cinema to provide the 24volt 250watt lamp has worked out well. Its wired in a way that the lamp can't come on unless the motor is running with both the high and low voltage still in use from the Elmo.
With silent Standard 8mm home movie films the projector works well. One thing I notice with all those early non zoom lenses is how well they focus, sharp as a tack. I do like the idea of simple manual threading as well, both the Kodak and the M8 really provide a rock steady image to almost all old Standard 8mm films. The projectors are very forgiving except for the gate there is also very little film contact, something else I like, anyway here are some photos of the M8.
