  • Regular 8mm to Super 8mm reel adapter

I’m looking for a regular 8mm to Super 8mm adapter like the one pictured. This particular one is from a GAF dual-8 projector. Needed for a pair of regular 8mm rewinds I have. I do have the inserts to put on the reel itself, but I don’t really like those and they don’t fit all reels. Does anyone have such a beast they are willing to part with or know where I can find them?

With questions like this and because you are in Boston, I would try John at Optech lighting. He has so much in that room. He could dig through a box of old parts and perhaps come up with what you need. I don't know that for certain it is a potluck situation for you, but you should always start there since you are so close.

Yes, Chip. I will soon be bringing them a couple of projectors for some minor repair/maintenance. May as well hit them up for some miscellaneous parts.

Does it really have to be that special, specific model? Or would a standard adapter do that usually came with S8-reels and that you could also 3D-print on your own?

Urbanski is selling that standard adapter for 1US$:

It doesn’t need to be that specific model, but I want an adapter that fits on the spindle of the rewind unit. I don’t like the adapters that are inserted into the reel.

Urbanskifilm does not have the $1 adapters (listed in the link, but link to buy is dead) They also require a minimum of $35 to order anything.

Have a look at these from Van Eck (in The Netherlands).
