Please note at the outset of this series of posts, that I am not asking this question to be antagonistic towards Alberto Vangelisti, and if Alberto would not be willing to answer for himself, please, may those who defend him, you are highly welcome to answer this question. I also wish to say that I highly applaud the O.R.S. treatment that makes available, so my asking this question is only for Alberto to finally be able to clear up, in his own words, as to what many people have asked, including myself. The question is ... At least, at earlier times, it has been demanded that, in order to get the O.R.S. treatment, one must receive the magnetic striping as well. Now, we all know that as an established fact. According to what you stated, Alberto, in issue 49 of " Reel Image", that you are able to add to an optical sound 16mm film, a magnetic stripe in the sprocket area BUT LEAVING the OPTICAL 16mm track intact. Therefore, the actual question being, is this a new development, allowing one to keep the optical soundtrack and if so, are you able to now do the color treatment, without sacrificing the optical sound track, on super 8 optical sound and if not ... Why? If you are able to provide your services for 16mm optical sound, keeping the optical track as well, it seems that we should be able to keep the optical track on super 8 optical prints as well. Has anybody been able to contact Alberto? It IS a very important question, as I am sure that, if Alberto will no longer require mag striping on optical super 8 prints, he would get a good deal more business, To be sure. -

No lynching here, as far as I am concerned. Being that he is now able to magnetically stripe 16mm and allowing the optical track to remain now, (at least as of issue 49 of "Reel Images" magazine, being reported by Alberto himself), it would seem to follow, that the same should be able to be done with super 8 optical sound as well and, as stated earlier, this would no doubt boost his sales as well, and who wouldn't want that?Comment
