Film Speed Help

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has already been addressed in the past (I have searched but cant find the right word combination) and if this is the case, and you can point me to the relevant post, it'd be much appreciated.

My question is; when shooting with a film that has an ASA/ISO that doesn't correspond to the ASA/ISO dial on my camera, what do I do?

I have an 100ISO B&W film but my camera has 80 - 160 options.

Hi!
Simply choose the nearest/closest number. (80ASA is only a 20ASA difference, while 160ASA is a 60ASA difference.)
When you’re in the exact middle between both numbers, choose the smaller ASA. This will result in overexposure. But most filmstocks can handle overexposure better than underexposure.

Yes, I started off with a (manual exposure, no light meter) Halina Super 8 camera which had only fixed stops f/16 to f/1.8 with one stop increases no half stops, and that exposed film OK
