  • Kodascope Eight Model 50

My projector is running slow even when adjusted to maximum speed. Also motor shaft seems abnormally hot. All red dot points have been oiled but I am wondering about inaccessible motor rear shan’t bearing. Any help?

I believe that this model was introduced in 1948 and now could be 75 years old.
    1) It may need new carbon brushes.
    2) The commutator may be encrusted with carbon dust.

It was actually purchased new by my parents around 1935. I will take a look at motor and attempt disassembly for commutator cleaning. Are replacement brushes available somewhere?

This company say they have been making carbon brushes for many years.
