  • Elmo GS1200 Capacitors!

Hello All, I was after some advice sourcing the main power supply capacitors in GS1200 machines. I've attached some pictures of one. The replacement I would presume would be the snap in type Electrolytic capacitors however most modern ones have a lead spacing of 10mm where the originals have a lead spacing of a half inch about 12mm. Has anyone replaced these before and can recommend a good replacement.

    Hi Joel,

I'm seeing 7mm wire leads and 10mm snap-in too. if you need 12mm spacing, maybe the thing to do is slightly bend one pin and RTV the new part down to the board.

It gets a little desperate replacing 40-50 year old parts sometimes: sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

    Happy Easter!

I have done this in my GS machines like this. Drill two slots into a plastc Spacer Disc and assembled it under the Capacitor.
