New query! What Paramount titles Did Marketing Film release FULL LENGTH?

  • #2
Quite a few! The nice thing about many of the Marketing Films Paramount features is that they had a decent supply of the modern features for that time, but they also released a few of the classical features, and from what appears to be from original Technicolor masters. When these prints can be found on Agfa film stock, they look absolutely brilliant! I don't know if others folks have noticed the differences, but compare Black Sunday to the Ten Commandments, and the difference in color brilliance is quite striking!

I have in my collection Neath on the nile. It is printed on Agfa and still holds very good colour.

10 Commandments made it full feature to the Spanish market in 1979. It was supposed to be released in English but was cancelled due to negative damage. De Mille intro was already edited from release.

                  Ged,

"True Grit" was advertised as a full length edition, I have been searching for it for many years for my own collection, but I don't think it ever materialised, I've asked about it for many years and have never heard of a collector who has got a copy.

I also think they released "The Warriors" F/L

I had The Hunter F//L and as a 3x400. Both great prints at the time. It’s a better movie than it’s given credit for. Well worth watching.

True Grit full feature is like looking for The Maltese Falcon. I remember asking to buy it bootleg from the US with no success as negative material was not available.
