Dear filmfriends.
I just bought a Braun Visacustic 2000 for only £59 that need service.
I did this because the original Braun f.1.1 11-30mm MC lens came with it,
SO, with the Van Eck Elmo Converter it is an incredible upgrade for my Elmo GS1200 projectors. The sharpness really improved.
That is because when Braun bought the Schneider Kreuznach f1 11-30mm lenses, a woman called Eva checked them all and send the lesser ones back.
Only, a week before this, I already bought that same Braun lens seperate for €150.
So I can do two things,...
Or I buy another converter for my other Elmo the ST1200
Or I let this Braun Visacustic 2000 get serviced.
It is such a nice small machine, still incredibly heavy for its size, Like picking up a GS1200
What this machine does now is:
- The cooling blows very loudly like a vacuum cleaner and sometimes gets quiet like it supose to sound (I think) for a short period.
- During the movie the picture starts scrolling, like there is no grip on it and than it just slides by, which can be caused by bad perforation maybe.
Setting the projector backwards and forwards will fix it for a while
I still have to check the sound, cause it came without speakers.
But now that I have seen this projector, makes me wanna have it working really good.
Changing belts and replace the gear for a metal version, probably won't fix everything.
Is there a service repare specialist who knows this model too?
