I have managed to acquire two of these 8mm projectors, one with a belt and one without. The machine with the belt works, but the belt fitted is not the correct one. I know this because it has ‘Hoover’ and a part number stamped on it. Can anyone tell me what the original belt looked like? I’ve tried a couple of round section belts which haven’t been successful. Today I tried a flat belt of the type used in record decks, but it didn’t work either. A picture I found in the magazine ‘International Movie Maker’ from 2005 shows an internal view, but it’s hard to make out the detail of the belt, other than that it seems to fill the pulleys which are quite deep.
