  • Problems with Goko RM3 editor

Changed the content of this post since the previous problem's already fixed but now I've ran into another one.
The dial to move the frame up and down seems to be off. On the lowest setting the space between 2 frames is in the middle of the display and when turning it all the way up the frame is still not high enough so I still see the edge of the top of the frame. Is there any way this can be changed?
    Thanks in advance.

If it's mechanically identical to Goko TC-20 (telecine player) that I have, making this adjustment is quite involving.

That's been quite a while so I can't remember all details at the moment. But at least it is necessary to have the rear cover removed, plus some long flathead screwdriver to do the adjustment. I may dig mine up and have a look in a few days. Stay tuned!

      Thanks, that would be great!
I assume you were having the same problem then?

Yes, to a certain degree. In my case while it's still possible to frame it up correctly but it's very asymmetric, it can barely go down but would go up almost half a frame (or vice versa, can't remember the exact detail at the moment).

        And here's the bad news.

I managed to dig it up from the attic and now remember why I packed it away in the first place. I somehow snapped the retaining screw holding the pinch roller to its shaft. That means it will drive the film only for a second or so, before the pinch roller popped out. Being a very tiny left-hand thread screw hence virtually no hope to find the exact replacement and I'm still unable to figure out the solution.

Oh too bad yours is virtually unrepairable 😔
It looks like yours is having same problem mine. Yours can go up half a frame but not enough down, mine can go down half a frame but not enough up...

Does anyone have the service manual for this (or the RM-3D)? It looks like the recording section isn't working
When I set it to record the VU meter doesn't do anything (tried with the mic that came with my Elmo projector and is confirmed working) and when playing back the original sound hasn't even been erased (set the SOS volume to 0 so it should completely replace the original track).

Possibly dirty contact on rec/play switch - the same issue as old tape recorders. A squirt of contact cleaner might help.

Thanks Nantawat but I think the problem goes deeper than that. When I press down the Record lever the red LED turns on so it's not the switch.
