Mentioned I was bringing back to working order a ST1200HD from the land of belt goo.
The good news is IT'S ALIVE!
Sound record was a bit numb a sign of head wear, so I had that renovated. Clean down, lubed and just fitted a new shutter rubber belt to complete.
I found a new tape deck belt that filled the width of the shutter and a good fit, much better than some you see on the bay. After drying I fed some S8 into the ST then into the GS to see what the speed uptake was like. Pretty good holding its own.
Rather pleased with the end result, and thank you to all who have gone before sharing helpful tips about the ST.
