Screen Magnifiers?

Hi!

E.g. on wish.com, one could get relatively cheap screen magnifiers - designed for smartphones. The one from the attached image has a diameter of 15 inches, integrated speakers and a holder for the smartphone. Price tag: 14€ plus 3€ shipping. I wonder if you could place it in front of an editor. Has anyone already tried this?

It's a Fresnel lens and in fact they are the same as the screen of a viewer. Some editors/viewers also have a diffuser in front of it but on my model (Goko RM-3) the screen is just a fresnel lens. I imagine image quality would get pretty bad if you put another one in front of it. You could remove the original one though and use this larger one at a longer distance to get a bigger screen. It would be very dim though with only the 10W bulb inside.

Smartphone has very bright screen while 8mm editor or viewer is very much dim. I don't think that is a good idea.
