  • CineSea 27 update - Thursday Night Theme is set & Friday Night Feature choices are in

The latest edition of CineSea is coming up very quickly, running from September 28 - October 1st in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.

For details, please check out the CineSea website.

    •Thursday Night Theme•

The Thursday Night Theme screening is the official start to CineSea. It's a screening of short films brought by attendees that fall under a particular genre. Last time it was "animation”. This time our theme is....Adventure! We’re looking for films with exotic locales, heroic journeys & quests, swashbuckling, treasure hunts, cliffhangers and derring-do all in 25 minutes or less! These can be fictional narratives, documentaries, animation, travelogues, etc.. Thursday will be an exciting night!

    •Friday Double Feature•

The movie melee has started! The submissions for CineSea 27's Friday Night/Matinee Features are in. Attendees choose which print they'd like to share for the Friday screenings, which will take place on September 29.

    The films doing battle are:

    BLACK SUNDAY - 1977 (16mm Flat, LPP)

    CADDYSHACK – 1980 (16mm Flat, Color)

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (Special Edition) – 1977 (16mm Flat, LPP)

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS – 1978 (16mm LPP, Flat)

    •Saturday Part One: Dealer Day!

The Saturday show starts at 10 AM and many, many projectors will be running non-stop and many, many films will trade hands right up to the dinner break. Interested in a table? Please see the CineSea website for details.

    •Saturday Part Two: Evening Screenings

After the dinner break, we start the incredible Saturday night screening, where people bring films that they'd like to share (with a running time of 20 minutes or less) in Standard 8, Super 8, 16mm or 35mm. There are always films shown that I never knew existed!

You've heard the The Humming Projector podcast, now see the show!

The votes are in and Cinesea 27's Friday Night Feature will be:

James and the Giant Peach (16mm Flat, LPP). I haven't seen this combination of live action & stop motion animation by Henry Selick since its release in 1996. I look forward to seeing it again.

The 2nd place film, to be shown at our Friday Matinee is:

Son of Sinbad (35mm Scope, IB Tech). I know this film was available as a Super 8 release, however a 35mm Scope print of this has to be pretty rare. It's always good to see Vincent Price, especially not playing a villain!
