Gs 1200 no optical sound - help please

In Optical mode the exciter lights up but there is NO optical sound.

Anything I can do before sending to a tech?

The "FLUB" test fails: volume up - projector in forward - blocking the beam of optical light between light and slit lens there is NO sound test through built in speakers.

Magnetic works as expected.

Spoke with a tech

Dust off compressed air

blown gently front and rear ends of slit lens

remove dirt dust whatnot blockage

FULL BOOMING OPTICAL RESTORED

That was the only thing I was able to fix on my GS1200! Beyond that, I AM clueless. It's good at gathering dust.
